It is possible to have different heap sizes for the Admin and managed servers. You should be able to set similar values in startManagedWebLogic (cmd or sh). If you are using NodeManager, you can set the memory arguments in the WebLogic Admin console by going to Environment-&gt; Servers -&gt; [the managed server you are interested in] -&gt; Configuration-&gt; Server Start-&gt; Arguments.]]></description>
